Groundbreaking for Texas Rangers Museum

Several members of the Patrick Henry Chapter SAR attended the ground breaking for the “Texas Rangers Heritage Center” sponsored by the Former Texas Rangers Foundation in Fredericksburg.  “The Texas Rangers Heritage Center (TRHC) will be a state of the art immersive experience nestled between historic Fort Martin Scott and Baron’s Creek on Hwy 290 in Fredericksburg, Texas.  The TRHC is dedicated to the preservation of Ranger history for the education of youth.”  Governor Rick Perry (SAR member), State Representative Doug Miller, Fredericksburg Mayor Jeryl Hoover were guest speakers.  The site was “blessed” by Comanche Nation representative Bennie Tahmahkera, Jr.

Attending the ground breaking from Patrick Henry were John Knox, Wayne Courreges, Marvin Morgan and Robert Hites.  Two canons were furnished by Randy Billingsley and Leo Bush and his wife.

A good time was had by all.

Constitution Day Luncheon

Today the various chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution along with the Alexander Hamilton and Patrick Henry Chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution celebrated the end of the week-long celebration of the Constitution of the Unites States of America.  Today’s luncheon included an introduction to the various State officers and chapter members as well as a interactive discussion on the little known, (or remembered) facts about the Constitution. As always the food was good and the camaraderie even better!

For more information how you can be involved and become a member of the Sons of the American Revolution please contact Jim Nelson.

Color Guard Commander Receives Letter

Compatriot Marvin Morgan has received a letter of appreciation from District Judge Lee Yeakel for his and the Color Guard’s participation during the September 13th Western District’s naturalization ceremony.  What better way to show the American spirit of freedom and independence to our new United States Citizens than showing pride in knowing the history of our great nation.  Our thanks go to out to our outstanding Color Guard for their participation.
